How does it work?
Small circles, big impact
Each circle consists of a maximum of eight members (and a minimum of four) plus me guiding and facilitating. Each circle meets twice a month and stays in touch in between sessions through a digital meeting space.
A three month commitment
Members sign up to a circle for a three month term. Towards the end of each term, members then decide whether they want to renew for the next term.
A space co-designed by you
Before the start of each term, I speak to each member to find out what they want and need to get from the circle.
I then design a programme of content for the term and share this with the circle for feedback. The circle reaches agreement by consensus on the final content and form.
Examples of potential content
This could include, for example:
-
Storytelling techniques
-
Dealing with questions
-
Stage presence
-
Managing nerves
Members also get the opportunity to practice talks and receive feedback, or even lead a session if they'd like to practice their facilitation skills.
A Fearless Speaker circle may be a good fit for you if:
-
you want to use speaking to build your business, advance your career or talk about a cause that matters to you
-
you want to build your confidence and reduce any nerves you're feeling about speaking
-
you are understanding and respectful of the needs of others
-
you are willing to encourage members and give constructive feedback
-
you are eager to grow and learn and approach the circle with a collaborative and open mind
A Fearless Speaker circle would not be a good fit for you if:
-
you do not respect the views and needs of others
-
you are not willing to provide support and encouragement to other members of your circle
-
you do not intend to use your new-found skills for the greater good
-
you wish to express sexist, homophobic, racist or other hate language
-
you can’t fully commit to a three month term

Frequently asked questions

How can I be sure the circle is a safe space for me?
Before each term starts, I talk to every new member of a circle to find out their needs. If I feel that the person would not be a good fit for the group, I will let them know. It's important to me that everyone feels safe and supported.
Where do you run the sessions?
The London Bridge circle is run at the Psychosynthesis Trust, close to London Bridge station. The Bromley location is to be agreed by the first circle but is likely to St Marks Church Hall, near Bromley South station.
What time will my speaker circle sessions be?
This is agreed by each circle, but they are usually run on an week day evening, 7 - 9pm.
Are there any pre-requisites?
Yes, I expect each person joining a circle to have at least some speaking experience, but this does not need to be extensive. I also expect each circle member to want to put their skills into practice in the real world, so they can continue to grow their confidence and experience.
If I renew after my initial term, can I expect the content to become progressively more advanced?
The schedule for each term is agreed by the group and so it will be tailored to the whole circle. If circle members continue to renew together, I would expect the content agreed to become more advanced over time. In addition, the level and type of feedback I give will also be tailored to your level of experience.
Can I get a refund if I find the programme is not suitable for me?
After attending one session, if you feel that the circle is not for you, you can let me know within seven days and I will provide a full refund.
